South Korea’s Kunsan China Office hosted a drawing competition themed “Qingdao Expo in Autumn” in the Kunsan Garden of the Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition, Shandong province, on Oct 18.
The Kunsan China Office organized this activity to record the beautiful scenery of the Qingdao Expo and strengthen friendship and communication between the two cities.
A student from Qingdao No 19 Middle School said she was deeply impressed by the buildings and beautiful plants with South Korean characteristics and felt glad to record the Qingdao Expo through drawing.
The Kunsan China Office hosted activities every month, creating a rich cultural atmosphere in Qingdao and promoting mutual cultural communication, according to Liu Zhiyong, director of the Asia section of the Foreign Affairs Office of the municipal government.
Qingdao has enjoyed deepened communication with Kunsan in economy, culture, education and sports since 2003. Kunsan is the only prefecture-level city in South Korea to set up its China office in Qingdao in 2008. It is also the only city in South Korea to attend the Qingdao Expo.
